Dental radiographs, also called dental x-rays, are images that allow Dr. Cooper to examine the internal anatomy of your pet’s teeth, roots, surrounding bone structure, and jaw. This allows us to detect and diagnose oral health problems that cannot be seen with the naked eye, but will likely cause your pet pain and discomfort.

When Are Dental Radiographs Needed?

What to Expect During a Dental Radiology Appointment

Although digital dental radiographs are taken with quick exposures, cats and dogs must be very still during an x-ray imaging appointment in order to ensure clear, accurate images. For this reason, many dental radiology appointments will take place under sedation. To ensure safety, we perform a complete physical examination prior to sedating any pet.
